MASTER’S SERIES SESSIONS: Levels I - V
Master’s Series Sessions is an intense five-year program consisting of five levels each taking one year to complete.
Successful completion of all five levels is an equivalent of a Masters Degree in guitar performance. Intermediate to advanced students will find this a challenging course that not only thoroughly
covers the fundamentals, but also taps the musician’s natural abilities to create. Technique, performance development, music theory, music history, and composition, are some of the many exciting
aspects of the course. Our goal is to instruct in a manner that is effective, yet motivational and fun. Master’s Series Sessions include the following:
- 50 one hour private lessons with William Jenks or William Jenks Guitar Studio staff instructor.
- 50 one hour group lessons and clinics covering ensemble playing, performance development, improvisation, and more.
- 5 level music theory and music history course.
- Free audit of all master classes and one performance in a master class during each one year course.
- Free participation in student recitals and performance workshops.
- 12 free tickets to the Portland Classic Guitar Concert Series that occurs during the one year course.
- 50% discount on additional concert series tickets.
- Post concert meet-n-greet with featured artist plus v.i.p concert seating.
- 12 sets of premium guitar strings.
- 2 method books or sheet music collections of student’s choice.
- 10% discount on all merchandise of Portland Classic Guitar including all guitars, sheet music, and accessories.
- Course culminates in a required student recital and written exam.
- A certificate will be issued at the successful completion of each level and an artist diploma will be awarded after completion of the
fifth level.
Students entering the Master’s Sessions must have completed the Platinum Series Sessions satisfactorily or pass an audition
for William Jenks, or Brenner Dawson. Each level is a one year program with a total of 5 levels. A written exam and performance is required at the end of each level.
Each level of the Master’s Series Sessions is a $4000 value offered at the discounted rate of $3500. That is a savings
of $500 plus students receive a year long 10% discount on all merchandise in the store. Each student will enjoy their sense of accomplishment as they receive there diploma at the end of each
level.
MASTER’S SERIES SESSIONS: Levels I – V
GROUP CLASS SCHEDULE
Guitar Orchestra (Tuesday 12:30 AM – 1:30 PM): This course is required for
Master’s Series Sessions students and is recommended for Silver through Platinum level students. In this fun and exciting course taught by William Jenks, each student will expand their sight
reading skills, develop their musicality, and learn the important aspects of playing in an ensemble. During the course, students will rehearse ensemble music to be performed in the William Jenks
Guitar Studio student recitals. Students must be able to sight read one line melodies in first position. Sheet music purchase will be required. Registration fee for class is $75 per
month or $20 per class.
Applied Theory And Improvisation (Wednesdays 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM):
This group class in applied theory and improvisation taught by Brenner Dawson focuses on the practical use of diatonic,
pentatonic, and modal scales; arpeggios; and chord progressions. Have fun jamming with other students in this motivational and informative class. Students must be able to play open position
chords, barre chords and have some scale knowledge. Required text will be announced at first class. Bring your guitar. Registration fee for class is $80 per month or $20 per class.

Performance Workshop (Saturdays 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM) This performance workshop allows
students to work though performance anxiety which all musicians face. Each student will get the chance to perform on stage for a captive audience. This class will be hosted by William Jenks
or a William Jenks Guitar Studio Staff instructor. There will no longer be a charge for this class.
William Jenks Guitar Studio Student Recitals (offered every two months): Students will get the experience to perform
in a more formal format. Each recital will be an advertised performance open to the public. Students must be taking lessons at the William Jenks Guitar Studio. Students who wish to
perform will pay registration fee of $20.
Guest Instructor Workshop/Clinic (First Tuesday of the Month 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM) The first Tuesday of the month
will be reserved for guest instructors to hold workshops/clinics on many subjects including technique, music theory, composition, note reading, guitar making, guitar repair, music business, recording,
